Lee Arbuco, a new member on the forums, has been working on a new patch for Trespasser which adds in DirectX 9, OpenAL, improved compatibility on newer versions of Windows, increased stability, dinosaur activities that were removed from the retail game, and a whole lot of new and improved functions… the most beautiful change in my opinion is the water refraction. Here’s an example image of what the improved graphics look like:
Users also note a doubling of FPS, with levels that retail Trespasser had severe stuttering issue now running smooth and crash free.
Current progress is focusing on adding support for levels using ActionTypes created by BigRed in the ATX patch.

…and yet I managed to make it crash at a certain spot in my Pens level. 😉
(But that was expected… in general, my level doesn’t crash anymore, so I can go back to finishing it)
OMG! I LOVE this patch !!!
Nice! It contains the atx view-distance patch/hack too? …which made the far objects more detailed.
Also when can we try the trespasser remake demo level which was sent for this site in june to be posted according to the author on http://trespassingpetrolia.com/
thx!
While you cannot adjust the draw distance like you could in ATX, the draw distance has been significantly improved. This doesn’t cause any stability issues as far as I can tell. Currently he says he has all but two ATX ActionTypes already in the engine and is currently setting up a level to test the ones he has done. Don’t think he’s put in any of the additional cheats or enabled the disabled ones yet.
As for the Trespassing demo, I haven’t heard anything yet. It’s been a while since s13n1 has said anything on that front. For that I guess we’ll have to wait and see.
Does anyone know if this patch is compatible with ATX? Because I would really like the HUD and the extra cheats in the game. If not then I will just use ATX for the time being until they update it to work with ATX. Thanks!
